At Afford, we want to support our clients to unlock their potential and let their abilities soar. Through a range of engaging programs, individualised supports and a supportive community of staff, friends and peers
Congratulations Charmaine Ward, from Afford’s Ingleburn Australian Disability Enterprise (ADE) and Tony Ward from Afford’s Minto factory who achieved amazing success at the Bocce games. The husband and wife team really shone at the Games by winning Gold medals each.
The success certainly did not come easily. To get to this level of fitness, Charmaine adhered to a strict, regimented routine of attending every training session, regular swimming, losing 15 kg and over 5 cms off her waist. It all paid off in the end with Charmaine achieveing her personal goal of winning at the games.
Her family were so proud of her achievements and the dedication she had put into training.
At the Games, Charmained won a Gold medal in the singles, a silver medal in the doubles and a gold medal in the teams. Tony has also been training really hard to compete in the Games. He won a Gold medal in the singles, a Bronze in the doubles and a Silver in the teams heat.
The Games were an amazing opportunity for the pair to meet and make friends with players from other states.
