We love to celebrate our customers who have grown and achieved meaningful goals throughout the year. Matthew, Peter and Miles were the Victorian recipients of the 2021 customer of the year awards for their outstanding efforts. They were over the moon to receive their awards at the recent customer Christmas party, where everyone could celebrate their win together.
The winner for Victoria’s South-East district, Matthew from Rosebush Supported Accommodation, was named customer of the year for his fantastic progress towards his behaviour goals.
“He has worked so well with his behaviour specialist all year. As a result, Matthew now actively goes outside for a walk to clear his head and process his thoughts when he experiences tough emotions,” said Lifestyle Assistant, Nathan Littler.
Matthew has made fantastic progress since joining Rosebush and managing his emotions has been a life-changing step towards independence.
“He has worked so hard all year so to top it off with a customer of the year award was fantastic! Matthew was so proud of himself, and I take my hat off to him,” continued Nathan.
Peter from Barce Supported Accommodation proudly represented Victoria’s North West district and celebrated his remarkable achievements after just one year of living in an Afford home.
“Peter has gone through so much this year, especially with his mobility. However, through his determination occupational therapy and physiotherapy, he was able to gain full-time employment and attend his lifestyle centre,” said Team Leader, Kendra Andrews.
Representing Victoria Lifestyle Centres, Miles from Noble Park was ecstatic to receive his award. Miles was nominated for his recent achievements in expressing himself and communicating.
“Lifestyle centre isn’t the same without Miles. He always has times for smiles and hugs. Miles has learned to give eye contact, touch his chest to say yes and has started walking since coming to Noble Park”, said Team Leader, Jacqueleen Nyangweso.
