Club Afford Takes You There!
At Afford, we understand that sometimes our clients want to go to events, festivals or programs that don’t fit in the usual service hours. So we’ve created Club Afford to give clients opportunities to enjoy activities during the week, as well as on weekends.
Club Afford is a member based program that provides opportunities for clients to take part in new activities that help develop skills, social networks and fitness. Activities organised for Club Afford are centred around the interests of participants.
Clients from Belmore Day Program enjoyed a spooky night out at the Festival of Fisher’s Ghost in Campbelltown and immersed themselves in the exciting rides, food and history of the event.
Named after Australia’s most famous ghost, Fredrick Fisher, the festival is held every November and features a spectacular Street Parade, the prestigious Fisher’s Ghost Art Award, annual Fisher’s Ghost Fun Run, a Street Fair, Craft Exhibition, open days and a giant carnival with fireworks.
Belmore clients browsed a range of stalls and enjoyed the fair food available. It was a great opportunity to get out and enjoy the sunshine while socialising with friends and engaging with others in the community.
Club Afford Operates On Weekends
To get the most out of their weekend, Oran Park Day Program clients headed out on a Club Afford outing to the Mid Mountains Festival on Saturday, 17 November.
The festival is a showcase of local businesses, performers, musicians, dancers and craftspeople from the Blue Mountains community and is set in one of NSW’s most iconic locations.
Our clients had their faces painted, enjoyed the festival activities and even had the chance to stroll to the Three Sisters lookout. Initially obscured from view, the fog then lifted to reveal the awesome natural rock formations of the Three Sisters that sit majestically in Katoomba in the Blue Mountains.
Through Club Afford, we are able to provide clients with opportunities to expand their life experiences, get out and about to get some exercise, get involved in activities that are stimulating and make new lifelong friends.
