Afford’s Kings Park Community Centre supports many individuals living with disability in the local community to participate in activities that they love.
Thanks to 2019 Community Building Partnership funding, our staff at Kings Park have been able to enhance the site’s facilities to create more accessible outdoor opportunities for clients to enjoy daily programs.
The funds have enabled the purchase and installation of a large awning. This means that clients and staff have the chance to participate in programs outside and take in the fresh air this summer while still having protection from the harshness of the sun.
A new concrete path and ramp now make it even easier for clients in wheelchairs and all abilities to access the outdoor space.
Staff are planning to incorporate gym equipment in this new large outdoor area. Arts and crafts, lunch gatherings and so many more activities are being planned now that this new area is available and ready to be enjoyed.
Community Building Partnership funding is vital in ensuring Afford continues to deliver exceptional programs and facilities for all Affordians.
This funding for the Kings Park community centre was greatly needed and will benefit the many individuals who attend the site every day.
