It was a day of animal encounters for clients of Jamisontown Day Program, with the group recently visiting Symbio Zoo at Helensburgh.
On 6 October, Jamisontown clients, Cain, Bridget and Luke, supported by Afford staff, Alexandra, Bernadette and Felicia drove in an Afford van to the wildlife park to see some truly amazing creatures.
This was the first time that Cain, Bridget and Luke had visited the zoo, so they were very excited to begin the day.
The staff at the zoo where very helpful and made sure the group had the opportunity to touch and feel some of the animals by feeding and holding them throughout their time at the zoo.
Everyone enjoyed the petting zoo. Bridget was able to feed a lamb, while Cain chose to feed a goat. Luke was happy to stand back and watch.
After touching, feeling, seeing and smelling many different animals, everyone took some time out to have a picnic lunch and take in the fresh air.
All returned to Jamisontown Day Program tired from an exciting day out, but enjoyed the time spent with friends and staff.
