Our Allied Health team will work with you to give you the best care possible so that you can live a healthy life.

Our Allied Health clinicians are dedicated to providing quality care to assist people with disabilities to reach their full potential. We use a multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach to provide holistic care. Afford’s Allied Health team is made up of Psychologists, Speech Pathologists and Occupational Therapists who provide a range of therapeutic and intervention supports tailored to each client’s unique needs.

Allied Health

We provide individual and group based supports under the NDIS

Under the NDIS, our Allied Health team can provide the following support for people aged seven and up:

Capacity Building - Improved Relationships
  • Specialist Behavioural Intervention Support
  • Behaviour Management Plan Including Training in Behaviour Management Strategies
Capacity Building - Improved Daily Living
  • Assessment, Recommendation, Therapy and/or Training (including Assistive Technology)
  • Therapy Assistant – Level 1
  • Therapy Assistant – Level 2
Core - Assistance with Daily Life
  • Assessment, Recommendation, Therapy and/or Training (including Assistive Technology)

Psychologists support with mental health and general wellbeing

Our Psychologists work collaboratively with people who have disabilities, their families, and broader supports to holistically support each individual.

We are available for home visits, TeleCare intervention, and group sessions. We tailor our services to suit our clients.

Social skills

All Speech Pathologists working at Afford are members of Speech Pathology Australia and they keep up to date with the latest research and different treatment techniques to help clients to communicate to the best of his abilities.

Therapy can be provided one on one or in groups; at the family home or at the centres.

Since 2020 tele-practice became a popular way to address therapy through times of lock down due to Covid-19m Pandemic. This will continue to be a popular therapy choice for families that are too isolated or far from metropolitan areas.

Social skills group have been very beneficial for clients that need support to stay engaged with family and friends.

Occupational Therapists help people to live as independently as possible – they assist people in their home, in the workplace and out in the world.

At Afford we have a team of dedicated Occupational Therapists who are qualified and experienced in the delivery of treatment services. We work with programs such as skills development and conduct assessments to determine each individual’s needs to provide specialised intervention and therapy.

Afford TeleCare is an innovative virtual method of delivering allied health services to clients in the comfort of your own home. TeleCare enables our team to provide clients across the country with ongoing support and intervention.
