Our Post:

This Friday is Valentine’s Day, so we want to #sharethelove and talk about some of Afford’s amazing clients, residents and employees who have found love together, who love the activities they take part in and, most importantly, have a love of life!

A True Love Story

Susie and John’s love story began when they first met each other at a cocktail bar in Penrith Panthers 32 years ago and have been inseparable since meeting.

They had an instant connection and, after a few encounters, realised they had a lot in common. Their friendship grew stronger and stronger, and then it blossomed into love. Susie has been with Afford since 1985 and John since 1986, with both working for Afford. Susie worked in the kitchen at Cherrywood and John worked in the Penrith factory and also the kitchen at Cherrywood.

Capturing The Moment

Afford arranged a photographer and videographer for the day to capture every special moment. From getting ready with hair and makeup, to the vows and all the happiness and joy that followed throughout the reception.

Susie and John’s wedding was held at the Nepean Rowing Club and they were thrilled to share this amazing moment in their lives with their family and friends, including many of their Afford family.

Susie’s Dad walked her into the venue where John was waiting with the celebrant; a smile spreading from ear to ear. Susie looked stunning in a soft, lilac, draping skirt along with a white top. John was handsome in his suit and tie and truly looked overwhelmed with joy for this momentous occasion.

They shared their vows, exchanged their signs of commitment to each other and a loving kiss was shared.

Supporting Friendships

Through Afford John met Toby, who he asked to be his best man for the wedding. Similarly, Susie has been friends with Roselyn for several years, so it was natural to Roselyn by Susie’s side for her big day.

Susie and John continue to be valued members of the Afford community. Susie actively gets involved in a range of activities with support in her Afford Panthers home in Penrith. She enjoys spending time with friends and is has such a generous spirit, as evidenced by her recent campaign to raise money for bushfire affected wildlife.

Valentine’s Day

This Valentine’s Day, Susie and John will get to celebrate their first Valentine‚Äôs Day as husband and wife almost 12 months on from their wedding day. The two have truly found their soul mate and this is a true love story.
