Our Post:

A single workplace can offer many roles to suit a variety of job-seekers. So as part of the SLES (School Leaver Employment Support) Program, trainees attend industry visits to explore a variety of workplaces to see just how many opportunities are out there.

Find a Role That Suits You

Recently, our SLES Prestons, Minchinbury and Penrith trainees attended industry visits to Flip Out Trampoline Entertainment Centres in Prestons and Penrith. The purpose of these visits was to support trainees to consider all the different roles that work together in one workplace.

Trainees were able to meet the managers of Prestons and Penrith Flip-Out centres to get a behind-the-scenes look into the work environment and job responsibilities.

Explore More Work Opportunities

It was an eye-opening experience for everyone. Many different sections of Flip-Out are suited to different types of workers. There are hospitality staff manning the café, as well as children’s entertainers hosting parties and supervising the trampolines. Trainees also had the chance to see the administration roles at Flip-Out, which are very important. Admin staff coordinate the rostering of staff and receiving customers. There were many job opportunities to explore.

Trainees enjoyed a tour of the facilities, bouncing from one section to the next to see the different equipment used. They even learned some tricks of the trade.

Work Responsibilities

On a tour around the site, trainees learned about the training that is required for working at Flip-Out and the safety rules that staff are responsible for upholding.

Trainees especially enjoyed visiting the foam pits and the bounce pyramids. As much as everyone wanted to dive in, trainees realised that they were there to learn, not to play, and kept focus during the tour.

At the end of the tour, trainees had loads of questions. This is a great sign that trainees are thinking about the various opportunities that such a workplace could offer.

Trainees asked everything from the duration of shifts, through to the number of customers they can have on-site. The most important fact they learned about working at Flip-Out? SAFETY COMES FIRST!

Trainees had fun exploring this new workplace and learning more about the entertainment industry. With our trainees interested in becoming baristas, admin assistants and childcare workers, there was a little something for everyone at Flip-Out!
