Depending on the role, you may need a certificate III in Individual Support, a valid First Aid/CPR accreditation, a current driver’s licence, a clear police check, Working With Children Check, and an NDIS Worker Screening Check.

To be an Afford support worker, you must have some essential qualifications, skills and clearances to be an Afford support worker.
Qualifications
These qualifications are essential for support worker roles at Afford:
- Minimum Certificate III qualification in Individual Support obtained by an accredited vocational education and training (VET) provider.
- Current First Aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training accreditation (or be willing to obtain it).
Other requirements
The following clearances and checks must be completed before you can be a support worker at Afford. You must:
- Have a current, unrestricted Australian driver’s licence, so that you can drive clients in our cars and vans. We cannot accept international drivers’ licences.
- Have or be willing to obtain a current, clear police check.
- Have or be willing to obtain a current and clear Working with Children Check with no restrictions.
- Have or be willing to obtain a current clear NDIS Worker Screening Check with no restrictions.
- Successfully complete an NDIS Worker Orientation module.
- Have and be willing to provide an up-to-date Covid Vaccination Certificate, or certified medical exemption.
- Be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical check.
