From Connection to Career: How Inclusive Employment Support Helped Berezaf Find Her Dream Job
Just six weeks after connecting with our Inclusive Employment Australia team, one determined client has achieved what once felt out of reach – securing her dream job and taking a major step toward greater independence and confidence.
With personalised support, job-matching expertise and unwavering encouragement, our Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) team worked closely with Berezaf Gebirkidan to identify her strengths, prepare for the workplace and connect her with the right opportunity. And it worked.
“I am so happy and grateful,” said Berezaf, (pictured below right with Senior Employment Consultant Vic Albert Lim).
“The support has been great.”
Berezaf’s success highlights the life-changing difference the right employment support can make. Through IEA, people with disability can access tailored guidance, practical job preparation and connections to inclusive employers who recognise the value that diverse employees bring to the workplace.
Albert and Berezaf are all smiles after Berezaf landed the perfect job.
A national program supporting inclusive workplaces
Inclusive Employment Australia is a national Australian Government initiative designed to support people with disability to find and maintain meaningful work. The program connects jobseekers with specialist employment providers who offer personalised assistance, from resume development and interview preparation through to workplace adjustments and ongoing support once employment begins.
For many participants, the program opens doors that may previously have felt closed – helping them build confidence, develop skills and pursue long-term careers rather than short-term jobs.
Decades of experience supporting people with disability into work
For more than 70 years, Afford has been supporting people with disability to live fuller, more independent lives – and employment has always been a central part of that mission.
Afford’s employment services have helped thousands of people with disability prepare for, secure and succeed in work across a wide range of industries. Through partnerships with inclusive employers and a deep understanding of the strengths and aspirations of people with disability, Afford’s employment teams work to ensure every participant has the opportunity to find work they enjoy and build a career they are proud of.
Our Inclusive Employment Australia team continues that legacy by combining decades of experience with modern, person-centred support that focuses on each individual’s goals, interests and abilities.

Work that builds confidence, independence and community
For many people with disability, employment is about far more than a pay cheque. Meaningful work can build confidence, strengthen independence, expand social connections and create a sense of belonging in the community.
Stories like Berezaf’s show what’s possible when the right support meets determination and ambition.
And for our team, there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing someone take that next step toward the future they want.
