The smell of cocoa wafting through the air and tastebuds tingling with delight were the sensory joys experienced by residents from Afford’s Melbourne Supported Accommodation during their recent trip to the Phillip Island Chocolate Factory.

Residents from three Afford homes across Victoria were excited to get out and about for a fun-filled day of chocolatey deliciousness.

During their visit to Panny’s Amazing World of Chocolate at the factory, residents enjoyed games of skill and saw models made out of chocolate!

There were chocolate decorated shoes, chocolate waterfalls, chocolate sculptures, and so much more. It certainly was an outing that tantalised the tastebuds and offered sweet surprises.

During their self-guided tour with their Afford lifestyle assistants, residents learned about the chocolate-making process. They even enjoyed some samples!

At the end of their visit, everyone wandered through the chocolate shop and bought some sweet treats to enjoy on the drive home.

After months of staying at home, this outing to the Phillip Island Chocolate Factory was all about renewing confidence in getting back out into the community and enjoying social experiences.

Thanks to the Afford Lifestyle, residents are supported to get involved in activities and experiences that make them happy. Their homes are places where residents can feel comfortable and safe to share their interests with housemates and choose events and outings that they will truly love.
