We’re delighted to announce that Afford has successfully tendered to the Department of Social Services to deliver Inclusive Employment Australia, the specialist disability employment program that will replace the existing Disability Employment Services (DES).
Inclusive Employment Australia is designed to improve job outcomes for people with disability, and being selected as one of just 84 providers to deliver this initiative shows that our strategic direction is the right one. It reflects the quality of our work, the strength of our people, and the clarity of our purpose.
From 1 November, Afford will deliver Inclusive Employment Australia in new areas across NSW, Queensland and Victoria. That includes Inner Sydney, the Gold Coast, and several regions in Melbourne such as Preston, Whittlesea, Epping, Werribee, Footscray and St Albans. Our Canterbury Bankstown branch will also expand into Campsie.
Consistently positive results
This growth builds on the important work Afford has done in the disability employment space since 2010, securing sustainable employment for thousands of participants who consistently provide positive feedback.
“I would give them more than 10,” said one participant in a recent Net Promoter Score (NPS) survey, where Afford achieved an overall score of 100.
“Really respectful and helpful no matter what… finding work and assisting with personal issues. They listen and understand.”
Our clients also shared that our employment services inspired them and boosted their confidence.
“I walked into Afford in the worst mood,” shared one. “I walked out feeling, ‘Okay, I can do this.'”
Importantly, family members also reported deep satisfaction with Afford’s employment services.
“My son has never worked or had work skills,” said one parent.
“Afford helped with his resume, reverse marketing, cold calling and job search. The assistance and support were consistent. My son is now working happily.”
Inclusive and empowering
The reforms to the disability employment system place participants at the centre of service design. Afford welcomes the opportunity to be in the network of providers entrusted to deliver on meaningful change and better employment outcomes for people with disability.
“Inclusive Employment Australia is not just a new program for Afford. It is an opportunity to grow into new areas, offer more services, and improve economic outcomes for people with disability, which are all key pillars of our strategic plan. This is a sector that is complex and filled with challenges, but I firmly believe these changes are necessary if we are to move towards a more inclusive and empowering future for people with disability,” said Afford CEO Jo Toohey.
