New program to improve job outcomes for people with disability is here.
The Australian Foundation for Disability (Afford) continues to deliver on its purpose of supporting people with disability, Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) from November 3.
After successfully tendering to the Commonwealth Department of Social Services to deliver Inclusive Employment Australia, the specialist disability employment program that replaces the existing Disability Employment Services (DES), Afford is opening new offices throughout New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland, broadening its reach and impact in the process.
The move marks a significant milestone in the organisation’s long-standing commitment to inclusion, empowerment and community connection.
“Successfully tendering to deliver Inclusive Employment Australia reflects Afford’s focus on the future – one where every person with disability has access to meaningful opportunities,” said Jo Toohey, Chief Executive Officer of Afford.
“Together, we’re strengthening our ability to connect people with the right supports, the right jobs, and the right pathways to independence.”
To mark the launch of the IEA program, Afford swill host events at key State offices. Due to their significance, these events will be attended by senior politicians, key dignitaries and industry leaders.
Afford clients will also be there on the day, sharing how finding work they love has changed their lives and for the better.
Delivering the IEA program will enable Afford to provide greater access to employment-focused supports and services that align with the needs of people with disability, while also supporting inclusive workplaces and promoting social and economic participation.
A refreshed look for an exciting new future
Coinciding with the launch of the IEA program, Afford has unveiled a refreshed brand identity that captures the organisation’s energy, optimism and renewed purpose.
The updated brand includes a modern logo, refreshed design, and a new tagline — Good friends. Great adventures. — all of which were co-designed with Afford clients, staff and community.
“Our new look reflects who we are today — a modern, people-first organisation with a bold vision for the future,” Ms Toohey said.
“While our appearance has evolved, our purpose and values remain unchanged: to support people with disability to live meaningful, connected, and adventurous lives, as we have done for nearly 75 years.”
The brand refresh and the successful tender to provide the IEA program signal a new era for Afford, strengthening its position as a leader in the disability sector and reinforcing its commitment to innovation and inclusion.
