How to pay for SIL

Funding and eligibility

You can pay for supported independent living with your NDIS plan, or with your own money. We have lots of experience with SIL and NDIS. Talk to us or your NDIS planner or Local Area Coordinator can help you work out if it is right for you. Things you’ll discuss:

How old you are – SIL is for people aged 18 and over
What supports you need in your home
What your unique situation and needs are
What your goals, likes and interests are
If you need modifications
Any reports and assessments you provide
If you need significant person-to-person supports
Other home and living options that might work for you
What value for money looks like for you

We also have options for people who are self-funded and want to access our range of disability services.

Board and lodging

An NDIS SIL support package does not include rent and boarding costs. You can pay for these costs with your Disability Support Pension, Commonwealth Rent Assistance or other sources of income you may have.
