How to pay for support coordination
NDIS funding information
You need to have support coordination included in your NDIS plan to use this service. The NDIS only funds support it considers reasonable and necessary.
That means support coordination must:
- Be related to your disability
- Be good value for money
- Support you to meet your goals
- Not include day-to-day living costs
- Not be related to other disability support needs, like groceries
If you are eligible for support coordination it will be included in your plan’s capacity building budget. This is a fixed amount for a support care coordinator to help you use your plan.
If your plan describes the level of support coordination funded, you can only purchase this level of support coordination.
If your plan does not describe the level of support coordination funded, you can choose to purchase the level of support coordination that suits your needs.
Visit the support coordination page on the NDIS website to learn more about support coordination and the NDIS.
Support coordination helps you understand and use your NDIS plan confidently. It’s about making sure your plan works in your everyday life. Your coordinator will explain your funding, help you find local services and make sure your supports fit your needs.
You’ll have someone to guide you through changes, review your progress and celebrate your wins. With support coordination Melbourne, you’ll always have a team ready to help you make the most of what’s possible.
You can get support coordination if it’s included in your NDIS plan. If you’re not sure, we can help you check your plan and see what’s covered.
Sometimes, people aren’t aware that support coordination can be added later. We can show you how to ask for it during your next review meeting. Even if it’s not listed now, we’ll help you find other supports while you wait.
There are three levels of NDIS support coordination.
The first is support connection which focuses on helping you start using your plan and linking with providers. The second is coordination of supports where we manage your services and help you stay organised. The third is specialist support coordination. This is for people with higher needs who need extra help with multiple services.
We’ll explain each level clearly and help you understand which one best fits you.
Support coordination is only available if it’s part of your NDIS plan, but don’t worry. There are other ways we can support you. We can talk through local community options and private supports and help you get ready for a plan review so you can ask for coordination in the future. We’ll also show you how different supports work together so you can plan ahead and feel ready for the next step.
Choice and comfort go hand in hand. We’ll take time to learn what you like, what feels tricky and what makes your day better. From there, we’ll connect you with local providers who match your needs. Our team will explain everything and make sure you feel comfortable with every decision. With our team of NDIS support coordination providers in Melbourne, you’ll always know your supports fit your goals and lifestyle.
