Inclusive Employment Australia is a government-funded program that supports people with disability, injury or illness to prepare for, find and keep meaningful work. It replaced Disability Employment Services (DES) in 2025.
IEA is open to people with disability, injury or health conditions who are of working age and ready to explore new job opportunities. You can take part if you’re an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or if you hold certain eligible visas. You’ll also need to be able to work a set number of hours each week and be looking to start or continue your career path

IEA offers tailored services to make employment more accessible and enjoyable. This can include preparing for interviews, creating resumes, organising short training courses or arranging modifications in the workplace. Once you start your job, your consultant will keep checking in to make sure your role still suits your skills and comfort.
Joining is easy. You can register your interest online, over the phone or by visiting one of our Sydney offices. Once you’ve registered, one of our consultants will contact you to chat about your goals and start building your custom employment plan.
Yes, absolutely. IEA doesn’t stop once you’ve started work. We stay in touch for as long as you need, making sure everything is running smoothly and that you’re happy in your role. Your consultant can offer advice, chat to your employer if needed and change your plan if things change.
Yes. IEA has replaced DES across Australia, offering the same supports with an even bigger focus on inclusion and personalised employment pathways. The goal is to make employment feel like a natural, enjoyable part of life, rather than just a program.
Our consultants take the time to understand what motivates you, the kind of work you’d enjoy and the workplaces that suit you best. You’ll always have someone who listens, keeps things simple and cheers you on along the way.

Ever considered employing a person with disability?
One in five Australians has a lived experience of disability. When businesses include people with disability, they discover new perspectives, stronger teams and real community connections.
How we help you discover great talent
We take the time to learn about your business and then connect you with people whose skills and interests align with your workplace. We also offer ongoing workplace support, staff training and information on government incentives like wage subsidies or modifications.
Unlock business benefits
People with disability bring dedication, reliability and creativity to their roles. Inclusive workplaces often see better staff morale, improved retention and stronger engagement with customers.
