STA means short term accommodation. It’s a temporary home for people with disability who need extra support for a short time. It’s sometimes called respite.

MTA means medium term accommodation. It’s housing for people waiting to move into long-term accommodation or for NDIS funding to start

STA is for short stays. It usually lasts for a few days or weeks. MTA is for longer stays up to three months. Both options provide support and comfort while you wait for your next step.

Anyone with disability can apply for STA or MTA. You can use NDIS funding or pay privately.
