Afford is the short name for The Australian Foundation for Disability. It has been our name for more than 20 years!
Afford is a leading service provider in Australia. We open doors to living independently, finding a great job, meeting great people and achieving life goals. The most important thing we do is bring people together for life's adventures. Everyone is welcome! With us you will have opportunities and choice. We are a not-for-profit, rights-based NDIS provider. We are also an Australian charities and not-for-profits commission registered charity active in New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Victoria.
Getting started
Our friendly team is here to support you. They can answer questions, guide you through the process and help you access the right supports for your needs. Whatever the day brings, we will be there.
Nothing! You can just give us a call. If you have them, you might like to have any relevant documents about your care or support needs handy. If you are an NDIS participant, your plan might also be helpful. If you are self-funded, we will work with you to understand your goals and what you want from us as a service provider and design a support plan just for you. With Afford by your side you can take that first step and see where it leads.
It’s easy to get started with Afford. Contact our friendly team by filling out the online form or calling us on the phone on 1800 233 673, and we’ll guide you through the next steps. We can help you learn more about our services and setting up the right supports for your loved one.
Types of support
We will chat with you to get to know you and make sure we understand your wants, needs and goals. Then together will create a personalised support plan to make sure the services we provide are right for you.
Yes. You are in control of your support. You can choose the types of services you receive, when you receive them, and how they are delivered so your support fits your lifestyle and goals.
Afford offers disability accommodation, community and lifestyle programs, in-home support, employment and support coordination services. Our goal is to provide flexible, client-centred services that empower individuals to live life their way. Our services are designed to help people live as independently as possible and achieve their personal goals. Because life is better with back up.
Funding and costs
Our friendly team can work with you to review your NDIS plan or funding details and help you make the most of your funding. We always make sure you understand what is covered before you start receiving any services.
Yes. You do not have to have government-approved funding packages to access our disability supports and services. Self-funded is a way you can pay for services with your own money. Sometimes self-funded is called fee-for-service. This gives you the flexibility to access the supports you need if you have a one-off request, or if your government funding package does not cover what you need. You can also self-fund supports while you wait for a funding package to be approved.
If you are an NDIS participant, Afford can deliver supports that fit within your approved plan. We can help you understand and make the most of your plan and funding, and how your supports can work together to meet your goals.
