Festive celebrations are in full swing across Afford with our communities celebrating togetherness and joy for Christmas.

Albion Park Community Centre organised a cheerful Christmas celebration with staff, clients, carers and parents enjoying a feast of food and fun. There were lots of delicious food to munch on and Christmas craft to make and create. The highlight of the day was a special visit from Santa, who rang his bell and created a mood of excitement for everyone.

Jamisontown Community Centre surprised clients by inviting Santa and Mrs Claus to their site. There was lots of laughter and Christmas themed bliss for everyone! Jamisontown’s Christmas party included face painting and ice-cream desserts made by Mr Whippy for something a little extra special.

In the lead up to Christmas, the ladies of Afford’s Pimpama Supported Accommodation busily made Christmas cards for friends and family. Emma, Jackie and Becky worked hard to include lots of vibrant colour in their cards, and their creativity shone through.

How To: Make Your Own Christmas Crackers – Home to Love

Guildford’s Christmas party was full of laughter and great memories with lots of ball games and activities enjoyed at the local park. Face painting was a popular activity for the day and brought a smile to many faces. Santa also stopped in to visit all the clients and everyone went home with a special gift.

In Melbourne, Christmas hats were on and the decorations were up for a festive feast for residents, their family and carers. Everyone enjoyed getting together after months of restrictions limiting visitors to homes.

Similarly, in New South Wales, residents at the Empire home invited their carers, family and friends to join them for a Christmas lunch at their homes in Penrith. The sun was shining, the food was delectable and when it was time to hand out gifts, there was an overwhelming feeling of love and happiness all around.

Mt Druitt Community Centre was a hive of activity and excitement with not only Santa visiting but also two of his elves! Everyone loved the face painting and sharing a meal with their friends. Staff and clients alike embraced the festive spirit by dressing up in themed clothing and colourful, bright Christmas hats.

Afford celebrates many cultural and calendar events throughout the year. Staff support clients and residents to learn more about traditions and celebrations and enjoy meaningful gatherings with friends and family.

From our Afford family to yours, Merry Christmas!
