Jo Toohey to step down as CEO of Afford

The Australian Foundation for Disability (Afford) has announced that Chief Executive Officer Joanne Toohey will step down from her role, with her final day on Friday 8 May 2026. Jo joined Afford in October 2021 at a time of significant challenge for the organisation. During her tenure, she has led a major program of transformation to stabilise and strengthen Afford, improve services, and position the organisation for long-term sustainability.

Building confidence and capability to support improved employment outcomes under NDIS reform  Participants are building the confidence and capabilities required to pursue meaningful employment through a targeted initiative delivered by Afford’s Inclusive Employment Australia team, aligned with current reforms to the National Disability Insurance Scheme.  The Unshakable Confidence session, delivered with the support of Brimbank City Council through the Local Jobs Local People Program, supports participants to develop foundational skills that are increasingly recognised as critical to achieving sustainable employment outcomes.
