Unsure where to get started?
Adventure starts with a single step.
What is supported independent living, or SIL?
Supported independent living (SIL) is an NDIS support package where you can live with other people with disability or on your own. With a SIL package, you can get the right level of daily assistance that you need to help you feel comfortable, confident and independent.
Living independently looks different for everyone. For some people, independence might mean having a support person close by to share the serious stuff (and the laughs). For others, it’s about getting out into the community, enjoying activities and feeling confident managing day-to-day life.
SIL can include help with cooking, cleaning and personal care. We’ll work closely with you to match you with SIL accommodation in Sydney that feels just right for you.
Tell us what independent living means for you, and we’ll help make it happen.

Funding and eligibility
You can pay for supported independent living in Sydney with your NDIS plan or with your own funds.
Our team has years of experience supporting people through the NDIS process. You can also talk to your NDIS planner or Local Area Coordinator.
Things you’ll discuss:
- Your age (SIL is for people aged 18 and over)
- What supports you need at home
- Your goals, likes and interests
- Any reports or assessments you already have
- Whether you need significant person-to-person support
- Other housing options that may also suit you
- What value for money looks like for you
We also have options for people who are self-funded and want to access our range of disability services.
Board and lodging
NDIS SIL funding doesn’t include rent or board. You can pay these costs with your Disability Support Pension, Commonwealth Rent Assistance, or other income sources. Contact us by filling out our online form or call us on the phone at 1800 233 673 to discuss your funding options today.
