Afford’s Youth Employment Coaching (YEC) service provides young people with disabilities the employability support they need to transition from school to the workforce. This exciting time in young people’s lives is filled with opportunity and possibility, and we are here to realise your aspirations as you leave school and make your way into the world of work.

What is Youth Employment Coaching (YEC)?

Afford’s YEC program equips young people with skills, knowledge and real-world experience to enter work or further training with confidence. This program is suitable for young people who are looking to get a job straight after school, or who are thinking of doing further study or training before they commence work.

Afford’s trainers will introduce you to a range of opportunities through work experience, community engagement and industry visits. Through this program, you will:

ď„‘

Meet a range of employers.

ď„‘

See what a day in the life of someone doing the job you want looks like.

ď„‘

Get some hands-on training and experience.

ď„‘

Be supported to consider which option is right for you.

“Coming to YEC, I have learnt a heap of new skills and made so many new friends! Going to work experience at the Butterfly Farm, I got to help people and it feels good when I help others.”
