What is Supported Independent Living?

Supported Independent Living (SIL) is a NDIS support package that lets you live with other people with disability, or on your own. It can include support for everyday tasks like cooking, cleaning and personal care, to build your independence. Our SIL houses can also connect you to new activities, social events and hobbies in your home and your local community.

“For Mark living here, helping him to achieve his goals he’s more independent, he’s got less barriers than what he had.”

Kylie, Mark’s Team Leader

How can I get funding to live in a SIL house?

Supported Independent Living is a NDIS support package that lets you live with other people with disability, or on your own. If you do not have NDIS SIL funding, we can support you to get funding. Visit the Supported Independent Living page on the NDIS website to learn more about SIL.

The NDIS SIL support package does not include rent and boarding costs. You can pay for these costs with your Disability Support PensionCommonwealth Rent Assistance, or other sources of income you may have.

Self-funded and Fee for Service Packages

You do not have to have government-approved funding packages, such as NDIS to access our disability supports and services.

Self-funded is a way for you to pay for services with your own money. This option provides flexibility to access the supports you need if you have a one-off request, or if your government funding package does not cover what you need. You can also self-fund supports while you wait for approval of a funding package.

Fee for Service Packages are also available for people who are self-funded and would like to access our range of disability services.
