Our School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) trainees and trainers demonstrated resilience and innovation throughout 2021 and conquered every challenge that came their way. Last week, they were excited to end the year with their much-anticipated Christmas parties.

The NSW SLES Christmas party involved all of the 5 NSW SLES sites come together for a day of fun and festivities at Penrith Aqua Golf. Our trainees enjoyed some friendly aqua golf and mini-games, including a hula hoop challenge and classic sack races.

The afternoon also included a graduation ceremony and final farewell for all trainees moving on to their next adventure. Receiving a certificate and gift voucher was a great way to reward them for their hard work throughout a challenging year.

With a yummy pizza lunch enjoyed by all, it was a great afternoon spent friends, celebration the Christmas cheer.

In QLD, our Ipswich trainees headed to Sea World Marine Park to join the Afford client Christmas party. Trainees had the opportunity to feel transported to a world below the waves as they got up close and personal to Sea World’s beautiful marine animals.

The group also celebrated with a more intimate gathering on December 15th at the Ipswich Hub. It was a fantastic way to end the year and with a few surprise goodies under the tree from their SLES Vocational Trainer, Rose Haley, it had everyone smiling ear to ear.

This year proved to our SLES teams that there  is no limit to what they can achieve when they think outside the box and never give up.
