In the lead up to Christmas, Affordians at Jamisontown Community Centre in Sydney’s west are committed to helping those in need in their local community.

Clients and staff at Jamisontown Community Centre are supporting Penrith based not-for-profit organisation, Mama Lana’s, with donations of food and emergency needs. Mama Lana’s is dedicated to helping homeless families and underprivileged members of the community.

Clients and staff at Jamisontown organised a food drive to collect food and goods to stock the Mama Lana cupboards. Donated goods will be used by the organisation to make meals for those in need six days a week from Monday through to Saturday.

Maz and Kim volunteered to deliver the food collected by everyone at Team Jamo to Mama Lana’s. They were supported by lifestyle assistant, Shanice, to make the special delivery.

“Everyone at Jamisontown Community Centre is proud to have contributed, even in a small way, to helping our fellow Australians,” said Leonie Pearson, Team Leader, Jamisontown Community Centre.

“At community centre, we open conversation about ways that we can help others in need and make a positive impact in our community.”

“Seeing the donations come in was very rewarding for everyone. Maz and Kim felt thrilled to be able to personally deliver the donation to Mama Lana’s on behalf of our site,” Leonie added.
