Pergola Party

Our Condell Park Community Centre recently had a refresh with a brand-new pergola being installed, creating a cosy backyard area. This change has enabled the team to essentially have another room at the Community Centre thanks to the 2019 Community Building Partnership Funding.

At Afford, we pride ourselves on having all of our Community Centres equipped with the best equipment, staff and activities, so our clients have valuable and meaningful experiences during their time there.

Replacing the previous shade sails, the new pergola enables clients to spend more time outdoors with full protection from the elements and can be used for a range of activities.

It has shades on each side that can be pulled down secure the area against the wind and rain.

“This has been a huge asset to our centre and for our clients and the coverage from the pergola has essentially created a new room,” said Team Leader of Condell Park Community Centre, Judy Blanch.

The new covered space has already been used for birthday parties and music programs. The clients are also looking forward to setting up the space as a café or lunch area to make full use of it, especially in the warm months.

“We would like to thank the 2019 Community Building Partnership Funding for the change that this has made to our clients here at Condell Park,” Judy continued.

Funding from the 2019 Community Building Partnership Funding enables renovations on our sites to ensure that they are providing the best possible services.
