After attending the Kings Park Community Centre for 17 years, our long-term client Trevor has decided to move into his first Afford Home. Trevor is the third resident to join the new Group Home in Mount Druitt that opened in April this year.

Our Supported Accommodation gives residents a safe and happy environment to develop their independence and follow their passions.

“Trevor has been looking forward to his new home and the new range of activities on offer. He has settled in well and told me he likes his new house,” said Senior Lifestyle Assistant, Kay Wongwai.

The new group home opened in early April and Trevor is the third resident to have settled in. The team have been loving their home and have invested in new sporting equipment for the backyard.

“There is a beautiful large backyard with plenty of space for activities. The guys have been enjoying coming together to do some vegetable and flower gardening,”  said District Manager for South West Accommodation, Sussan Browne.

Having lived in his previous home for 23 years, Trevor did have some initial nerves about moving. However, the Kings Park Community Centre staff reassured him about the move and prepared him for what to expect.

“One concern Trevor had was leaving his friend Ramon who he has lived with for the last 23 years, but they have stayed in contact through community centre,” continued Kay.

Moving has been a great achievement for Trevor and has built up his self-confidence surrounding new experiences.
