Three of our footy fans from Barce Supported Accommodation cheered on their footy heroes at The Hawthorn Hawks Football Club’s first home game of the season. The tickets were gifted to our clients from Hawthorn Hawks as a thank you for Afford’s continued support as a Social Inclusion Partner.
At Afford, we believe in partnering with like-minded organisations that encourage and motivate all people. We proudly support Hawthorn Football Club’s two All Abilities teams – The Wheelchair Football League and Victorian Blind Football League.
“Overall, it was a fantastic day for Danny, Stuart and Evan at the MCG stadium. The residents had a splendid social outing,” said Lifestyle Assistant, Zaza Workolo.
With Stuart dressed head to toe in his Hawthorn merchandise, it was clear who he was cheering for in the match against North Melbourne. Danny, however, was rooting for the boys in blue and white, The Kangaroos.
“Stuart’s team took out the win. After the game, Stuart gave Danny a handshake for good sportsmanship. I go for the Adelaide Crows and Evan goes for the Sydney Swans, so we served as the witnesses and observers,” continued Zaza.
Regardless of where their loyalties lie, everyone agreed it was a great match to kick off the new season with a bang. The day was extra special to Evan and Stuart, who told Zaza that it had been years since they last attended a footy game at the MCG.
“They were all very thankful for being given tickets to the Hawthorn vs North Melbourne game. They also enjoyed the live entertainment after the match,” said Zaza.
Thank you once again to the team at Hawthorn Hawks for providing our residents with a fantastic day out.
