The Australian Foundation for Disability (Afford) is proud to announce the launch of our 2024 Impact Survey, inviting clients and their representatives – such as family members, friends, and carers – to share valuable insights. This initiative represents an important step in Afford’s ongoing commitment to improving the lives of people with disability and enhancing our services.

The survey is not a one-time effort. We are committed to ongoing transparency, and the results will also contribute to our future Impact Report, ensuring that the feedback guides decision-making and shapes our organisation’s continuous improvement efforts.

To ensure independence and impartiality, Afford has partnered with Elevate Impact, a specialist strategy and impact organisation, to design and manage the survey. The survey is anonymous, providing participants with the opportunity to share their experiences openly. The findings will help Afford strengthen our programs and services, reinforcing our commitment to making a lasting impact.

“We’re excited to launch this survey to truly understand the impact we’re making,” said Jo Toohey, Afford CEO. “By listening to the voices of our clients and their representatives, we can ensure we continue to create services that prioritise the human rights of people with disability and treat each person as an individual.”

The survey will focus on four key areas:

  • Human rights: Ensuring people with disability feel supported, respected, and valued.
  • Personalised experiences: Tailoring services to meet the unique needs and preferences of each client.
  • Inclusion and community connection: Developing a sense of belonging within the wider community.
  • Economic wellbeing: Expanding opportunities for clients participating in Afford’s employment programs.

The 2024 Impact Survey includes an online component as well as optional follow-up interviews for those who wish to provide more detailed feedback. This input will be independently reviewed and used by Afford to refine our services and maximise positive impact. The 2024 impact survey is now live, and Afford encourages all clients and their representatives to participate.
