With the race that stops a nation on today, Sean is sporting his prized IJC Longines hat to bring him luck this race season.

Sean is a resident at our Caboolture Supported Accommodation home and a huge fan of horse racing. He pours over the Winning Post newspaper every Friday, to pick his favourites for the following day’s races.

He and his dad don’t mind a punt or two each Saturday and the bonding time strengthens their mateship.

Sean has visited the races at Corbould Park on the Sunshine Coast, but he has always dreamed of meeting the jockeys. He has great recall of all the names of the jockeys in Queensland and Sydney.

He is a fan of riding whiz, James McDonald and backs his horses in every race.

Diane is a lifestyle assistant, who supports Sean at his home if and when he needs it. Her daughter is a former jockey, so they got to talking about Sean’s love of horse racing.

A few weeks later, Sean was overwhelmed with excitement when he opened a parcel that had an IJC Longines hat and racing goggles – all signed by his favourite jockey, James McDonald!

“Sean was so happy to get the hat and goggles. He was so excited he didn’t want to take them off,” said Diane.
