Living a healthy lifestyle means caring for your physical and mental wellbeing. The ladies from our Dryandra and Logan Village homes are placing more focus on fitness and using a good dose of positivity to achieve their goals.

Angela and Sharon are residents in Afford’s Supported Accommodation in Queensland. They have begun a new exercise routine that involves putting on some gloves for some friendly one-on-one boxing.

Angela and Sharon are enjoying their new form of exercise. They wear gloves and punch the mitt held in the air by their lifestyle assistants, Tanya and Simone. They develop balance as they move their feet to increase the strength of their punches. They focus on their breathing to get the most out of their session.

In Victoria, Megan has also proven her determination by setting new personal goals for her fitness.

For around 20 minutes each night, Megan has established a regular exercise routine. First, she gets her heart pumping by following an energetic Zumba workout on the TV. Then, she extends her fitness routine by riding her exercise bike for a while.

While one of Megan’s goals is to lose weight and improve her fitness, she has noticed that the workouts also increase her energy and motivation.

Megan’s determination is inspiring. She continues to work towards her healthy living goals and challenges herself to be the best she can be.

Our staff support residents to enjoy a healthy and balanced lifestyle. This involves discussing healthy mealtime options and ways to stay active for overall physical and mental wellbeing.
