Afford has partnered with the Wests Tigers for the past four years to promote inclusivity for people of all abilities. Recently, Afford Community Centre sites from across Sydney, participated in the Wests Tigers Train Like a Tiger event for fun, social interaction and fitness.

Affordians from Campbelltown, Green Valley, Lurnea, Canley Vale, Condell Park and Blacktown Community Centres headed out to Bradbury Oval in Campbelltown to learn new football skills and mingle with top Wests Tigers players.

The club organises Train Like a Tiger events to give people living with disability opportunity to come together in a supportive environment to participate in modified rugby league activities. It is a chance to share a love of the sport and celebrate everyone’s unique ability.

Fifty Afford clients participated in football drills to develop skills in passing and kicking. Then everyone enjoyed some friendly competition in a game.

Affordians met Wests Tigers players Billy Walters and some of his teammates. Everyone walked away with a Wests Tigers hat and great memories from an amazing day.

Encouraging healthy and active lifestyles is a focus across all Afford services. Our partnership with Wests Tigers presents opportunities for clients to get involved in activities that improve fitness and promote social connections.
